Assurance of Salvation
1 John 5:13 – “I have written these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life, to you who believe in the name of the Son of God.”
- The bible is a promise, a covenant
- We are children of God — we contain God’s life
- We have the divine love
- We should love our brothers and sisters
- Our salvation is secured
- God is secure; not changeable
-Assurances of salvation: God’s word. His word is trustworthy. Whatever he says is always going to be real.
-Whoever believes that Jesus is Lord and that he has risen from the dead is saved.
-If we call on the Lord and feel comfortable about it, and feel good about it, then we know we are saved and know we are God’s children.
-Our love toward the church is proof that we have been saved and that we have been passed through into life.
-Our salvation is eternally secure; it will never be changed.
